I wonder whether Sertraline can have a negative effect on my Parkinson’s. I am experiencing severe tremors during the introduction phase, which has been 4 weeks on 25 mg. I have also experienced anxiety when there has been a gap between doses.

Sertraline will probably not have a negative effect on your Parkinson’s, but tremors could be a side effect, especially if you have not had tremors before or if previous tremors have worsened.

Worsening anxiety is a common side effect during approximately the first two weeks of treatment. After that, it usually passes, and the anxiety-relieving effect takes over instead.

The hope is therefore that everything will improve if you are able to continue with the prescribed treatment.
