Have you measured your blood pressure both whilst lying down and standing up after 2 minutes? Only then can you tell whether your blood pressure is ‘normal’ or whether it drops significantly when standing. Dizziness can have many different causes. The most common is ‘benign paroxysmal positional vertigo’ (BPPV) in the inner ear. Parkinson’s may also play a role, for example by affecting your balance. It depends a little on whether the dizziness is constant (as with muscle tension) or depends on your position or physical exertion. Certain medicines can also cause dizziness as a side effect. /Dag Nyholm
