I am 55 years old and received a preliminary diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease on 17 June this year. I received confirmation of this today, 10 October. A few weeks after the preliminary diagnosis, I started taking Rasagiline and Pramipexole. When I saw the doctor today, he suggested that I should also start taking Dinetrel. He claimed that this medication would delay the progression of the disease. I have now read up on the medication and can’t find any such information, so I’m unsure about starting it. I hope I can get some good advice here.

It is unusual (at least in Sweden) to start on three different Parkinson’s medicines within a period of just under four months. There is no medicine that delays the progression of the disease, but such theories have been put forward for several different medicines. /Dag Nyholm
