How quickly can I increase my medication dose? I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s four months ago and have been on 600 mg of Madopar for just over a month, but I feel that the effect has worn off. I am 80 years old.

Usually, the dose isn’t increased so rapidly that you reach 600 mg within the first six months, but it can be done in certain cases, particularly if you feel that the medicine was effective for you previously and that the effect has now worn off. It often takes a while for the effect to kick in after a dose adjustment, particularly early in the course of the disease, so it may be best to be patient.
