No, unfortunately – it is not possible to remove the bacterial flora without a major procedure, which is not straightforward. A colonic irrigation is not enough.
It is not a single bacterial strain that is under investigation – at least eight different bacterial strains are currently being studied – and it remains merely a theory, with no definitive and convincing evidence of a causal link.
