There have been a few studies on creatine (a substance found in meat and fish and available as a dietary supplement) as a treatment for Parkinson’s. It does not appear to have any effect on the disease, but the results are somewhat contradictory, so we do not know for certain, although a large placebo-controlled American study concluded in 2015 that creatine has no effect on Parkinson’s. According to the studies, it seems fairly harmless to give it a go, but it’s probably a waste of money. /Dag Nyholm
