Unfortunately, there is basically nothing better than Madopark at MSA, but some people think that dopamine agonists work a little better. However, both types tend to lower blood pressure beyond the blood pressure drop that the disease causes, so it is important to monitor blood pressure. Madopark doses should be stepped up slowly to up to up to 1000 mg per day if you can tolerate it. You can also try the medicine amantadine (Dinetrel) which can sometimes have some effect. If you have a drop in blood pressure (especially if the medication drops within 2-3 minutes after you sit down or get up from a good position) then you should use blood pressure medicine. If you have problems with the urinary tract (which is called MSAD) at some medical sites, it is common to try the medicine that can help you in certain areas of the disease.
