I’m wondering about my ALP level. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019. I take Levodopa and use patches. I’m feeling well. I started taking medication in May 2020. I had a blood test in November 2020. All the results apart from ALP were fine. The ALP level was 3.7, which was too high. I had the test repeated twice over the course of a few months. It didn’t go down, so the neurologist thought it was due to the medication. I also spoke to my GP about sleep problems and mentioned the ALP issue. She wasn’t satisfied with the medication theory. So I’ve now had the ALP test repeated 15 times in 2.5 years. It fluctuates between 3.2 and 3.7. I’ve had: a bone density scan, a gynaecological examination, an MRI scan of the lower back, many different blood tests, a bone scan, bone pressure measurements, a urine flow test, a long-term ECG, and sleep apnoea testing. I had a referral to the Diagnostic Centre, which was refused. I have osteoporosis and facet joint arthrosis. Could the rise in ALP be due to the medication?
